How much does it cost?
The elective programme is made possible through the generosity and commitment of the doctors who take part in the programme without charge. Most of your fee to goes towards supporting the health programme at AVEGA and Solace.
The cost of the 4-week course is £999.
This fee covers:
* The 2 week elective programme at AVEGA
* The 2 week elective programme at Solace
* Board and lodging
* Transfer two and from airports and projects.
It does not include fares or insurance.
Depending on your love of shopping, and travel at the weekends your spending levels are likely to be low. It could be as low as £100 for the month.
Neither CAT nor Surf provide any bursaries. Information on available bursaries for medical electives is available from individual medical schools. Past students have also advised contacting the British Medical Association for advice on funding.
CAT subsidises the programme by funding the marketing and administration of the scheme.
